As Resource Girls we one hundred percent believe you can look amazing without spending a fortune. Whether it be shopping end of season sales, clearance racks or thrifting items there’s no excuse not to look and feel your best! We wish we could afford to completely change our wardrobe with the changing of seasons, however, let’s be realistic, that won’t be happening. We believe it’s best to settle on just a few new items. We’re here to share what we feel is worth investing in this fall that will have your style game on point. How much you decide to spend is up to you but we can promise you won’t have to look far to find these styles and your closet will thank you!
Blanket Kimono:
You don’t have to look far to find a kimono – we’ve seen them everywhere from cute boutiques to Nordstrom to Target. We love blanket kimonos because they’re both fashionable and functional. They look great but are super warm too. In keeping with the Resource Girl’s spirit we decided to make our own no-sew blanket kimono for around ten dollars. Yes, believe it – ten dollars! We posted this tutorial over on Life Modifier blog a couple weeks ago (link) so head on over there if you want to make your own, if not you won’t need to go far to find a cute kimono.
Booties:
You don’t have to tell us twice to buy new shoes! We LOVE ankle boots. They can easily be dressed up with tights and a skirt for work, with skinny jeans in the winter, and then pair perfectly with shorts or overalls in the spring. This is one purchase we can promise you won’t regret. We do recommend going for a somewhat neutral color to increase their versatility. Don’t rule out dark greens or purples either. You’d be surprised how easily you can match these colors to most outfits!
